The history and purpose of the Greater Hinds Street Missionary Baptist Church is to participate and promote the Kingdom of God through Jesus Christ in evangelism, discipleship, Christian education, missions, ministries, social service and any other objective that the church may consider to be appropriate and desirable.

Youth matter! The Youth Ministry provides youth under the age of 18 a place to develop positive relationships with each other and learn about CHRIST.  The Youth Ministry works to ensure youth play an active role in various ministries and the worship experience of the Church.  Youth participation ranges from Sunday School leadership and Wednesday night Bible study, to Praise Dancers, Ushering, Junior Deacons, and others.  

Their Youth Garden Club Program serves students age 10 -18. The Youth Garden Club program believes that it’s vital for young people to know where their food comes from. The Youth Garden Club Program provides hands-on farm experience that teaches youth the importance of caring for the earth while learning how to grow their own food, work in a professional environment, operate a small business and create positive change for the community, the environment, and themselves. Youth participants spend time in the garden growing and eating food while learning science, math and art. By participating in growing their own food, these kids become better eaters, more aware of their own health and more connected to nature and the environment. The Youth Garden Club also provides kids with engaging, unstructured activity in the outdoors.
